Welcome to Nest by Tamara

Welcome to Nest by Tamara
I have been blogging since 2008. Nest by Tamara is a lifestyle blog inspired by my busy, full life as a NYC interior designer. I muse about interior design, antiques, architecture, gardening, cooking and entertaining – all that encompasses “nesting” to create a well-lived life and a stylish home. This is not a DIY blog nor a super snobby, stuffy view, but instead a philosophy of infusing a relaxed elegance into your home through investing in high quality products but mixed with budget pieces because we are always on the prowl for a bargain, and all the while keeping creativity as your secret weapon. My posts help you to continue to be the style seeker you are, juggling it all, and yet, you long for the most beautifully set table, albeit sometimes your pot is bubbling over just as the guests arrive. I show you how to utilize your time, keep quality in your back pocket, and smile while you enjoy the fabulous ride! Email me at TamaraStephenson1@gmail.com

designs at Fall Market NYC's D&D building

FAll MARKET
in New York city
was an inundation of design goodness these past two days at the D&D building.  Since I was invited to write about it all I was fortunate to sit front and center at most of the industry events.  I heard about exciting new products, trends and ideologies surrounding the interior design world.  I even attended the Stars of Design black tie event at the Astra Cafe where talents of the industry were honored.

Oh, what great fun!
The interior design world is in a constant state of change, growing while conscientious of holding on tightly to the past and preserving our great history.  Let's start with this newly launched fabric line Ankasa Collection.
You may remember I wrote about Robert Allen Fabrics last spring when they introduced the Naturals Collection during our fun trip to Brimfield antique show.
works well with their new Ankasa collection

"Robert Allen’s Beacon Hill brand,
known for captivating and original design, translated
Ankasa’s unique look to fabric by the yard,
producing rich textures, intricate embroidery
and their signature color palette."
Beacon Hill of Robert Allen Fabrics
pairs up with husband and wife team:
Ankasa is a Bespoke New Collection
of Captivating Textiles
featuring original
embroideries and jacquards,
and centers around the unique techniques
and designs that have made
Ankasa a beloved home furnishings and fashion brand.
Who is Ankasa?
meet husband and wife team, Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia, who worked with  Beacon Hill's operating vice president, Alexis Audette, to create the collection. The embroideries were inspired by studios of India, while the jacquards from
European workrooms.

The colors in the collection were drawn
from nature, featuring deep indigos and soft sands
for a subtle, yet rich feel.

Stop by tomorrow for more design goodness
 I picked up while at
Fall Market
Happy Nesting xo
