The Devon equestrian Horseshow pairs with Thos. Moser, and their beautifully made in Maine furniture to showcase a custom made rocker paying homage to this historic event in Main Line Pennsylvania
A lovely pairing continues....
I have made this connection before, and there is simply a natural pairing between the interior design industry and the equestrian world.
Here we are again, just as the annual Devon Horse Show wraps up the 2014 spring equestrian event. This year one of my favorite furniture brands, Thos. Moser, sponsored the event.
Did you know the Devon horse show is the oldest equestrian horse show in the country?
Complete with a gorgeous blue-washed painted outdoor arena and a ferris wheel in a country fair setting, equestrians and horse lovers convene to see the finest riders in the country compete for some swanky titles. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair started as a one-day show in 1896, and today is one of the premiere internationally recognized USEF event drawing top competitors from around the world who work hard to qualify for the chance to compete in the outdoor arena. The show reflects the Americana old-fashioned and local traditions of the Philadelphia Main Line. After a year of hard work and many horse shows in order to qualify many equestrians are tickled pink to be showing at Devon.

We were elated in 2012 when our daughter qualified for the Junior Hunter division at Devon, and just before she was about to head off to college to ride for the Cornell University Equestrian Team. It was the highlight of her junior riding career and an honor to take this locally known horse Man Of The Hour to Devon and compete against of the country's best horses. This year horses traveled far and wide for the chance to compete in this historic outdoor ring.
The Maine-based
furniture maker Thos. Moser is no stranger to quality, and their furniture is American-designed,
engineered and built. Many say it is formally simple yet sophisticated, and the furniture
highlights the natural beauty of wood with unembellished, graceful lines and
echoes of numerous antique traditions and contemporary influences.
This partnership makes
perfect sense, and to highlight their special collaboration, Thos. Moser debuted a
collection of commemorative pieces on the show grounds while sponsoring the event. The debut included a special rocking chair
featuring the Devon carved crest. Additionally, Thos. Moser will again support The Fall Festival of Homes, taking place throughout the Main Line in September 2014. To view the entire Thos. Moser collection, stop by the showroom in Philadelphia showroom at

This rocker and table are a homage to the spare, graceful design of the Shaker aesthetic. The rocker is a perfect design to celebrate the rich history of the iconic Devon Horse Show. The ash spindles are joined to the back crest featuring the hand carved Devon crest. Additionally, the sculpted cherry seat with wedged tenons are fitted at precise angles to allow strength and comfort.
