Decorating Post: Zhuzh up your bedroom for the new year, with a chance to win luxurious and colorful bedding from Christy!

Today I decorated my guest bedroom

using a little bit of Parisian inspiration

and bedding from Christy!

I am happy to announce that Christy has generously offered my readers the chance to win over $500 worth of bedding, similar to the set I used to decorate my home!  Please fill out this form -- the Christy Competition -- to enter a chance to win Christy bedding.

Having just returned from an inspiring trip to Paris where I viewed the latest trends and wares coming out of design show Maison Objet, I felt compelled during the doldrums of winter here in New York to spruce up my guest bedroom.  One of the lovely design touches the French often add to their hotel suites is to adjoin two twin headboards together to create a King Size bed with a stylish yet compact look.  Using this idea, I decided to change up our guest bedroom and bring in fresh, new colorful bed linens to brighten up the the large bedroom in our home.  I put two twin headboards together and added luxurious bedding, which is an easy way to change up a bedroom's decor without conducting a full renovation.

I Started with crisp, textural white sheets from Christy's Chantilly collection with rich embroidery detailing and 200 thread count cotton.  I layered the bed by bringing in lavender and dark aubergine colors, and set against my apple green walls, it works well.  With a king size comforter cover and pillows from Christy's Fontaine collection in 300 thread count cotton sateen and Christy's Sumatra Indigo linen and cotton decorative pillows, the bed was complete.  Using this similar pattern, I brought in select accessories channeling a soft, romantic feel with items including a faux shagreen pink tray, fresh roses, fresh spring hyacinths in a mint julep cup, then hung an antique oil floral painting I found at the Piccadilly antique fair while in London a few years ago.  With these small changes I instantly created a new, more romantic look for our guest bedroom, which now acts as a lovely respite from the snow storm that is brewing out of our windows today.

If you win this set of bedding, please send me a photograph of it donning your bed, and I will certainly post it here on Nest by Tamara and profile your designs.
