With ICFF just a few days away, Check Out Sneak Peeks OF New Rug Designs by Apadana Rugs!
ICFF is just a few days away,
and held at Jacob Javits Center in New York on May 16-19,
this is one of my favorite design shows.
This year marks a few exciting changes for the show, including expanding to 165,000 square feet, and over 700 exhibitions. That's a lot of walking to take in all these products from around the world. I am excited to see the Luxe Interiors + Design section which will include 80 top luxury brands, and to also check out the ICFF Studio, which is a collaboration between Bernhardt Design and ICFF featuring prototypes by undiscovered designers who were hand-picked by a juried competition.
Topping my "must see" list of new products are these rugs from Apadana Fine Rugs, new hand-knotted Berber Moroccans which feature a traditional Beni Ourain style geometric and iconographic design. Apadana Fine Rugs will showcase them, along with other samples of their collections at booth 1553!
You may remember I featured Apadana's blue/black over dyed rug in my room at Design On A Dime a few weeks ago, and this Connecticut-based rug company generously donated an 8x10 rug to our Designer's Atelier vignette for Housingwork's charity. The rug was immediately snatched up by one of the evening's shoppers and the design was on the tip of everyone's tongue at the event. I reached out to the firm to see what they have planned to showcase at ICFF -- take a look at this sneak peak of a brand new collection of vibrant Tibetan rugs. This chromatic collection features an abstract design which is repeated in a brushstroke pattern against an ivory field.

Owner Mike Apadana is excited about these new rugs,
and readily shared more information with me:
"Each hue was individually inspired by different traditional design elements, from Spanish tile, to Greek knots, to Venetian glass-making. This design is available any standard size and allows for complete customization of color values and materials. These finely hand-knotted Tibetans are one of the first of Apadana's house designs and we look forward to continue providing the highest quality carpets for the modern space."
