To me, the shining design coming out of Kips Bay Decorators Showhouse in Palm Beach this month are the many, beautiful spaces created by interior designer Billy Ceglia. The designer was given several areas to decorate throughout the house-- a downstairs back hallway, bathroom, mudroom, staircase, narrow upstairs landing, and second hallway.  We are over the moon for the dreamy, green design he created throughout. I am partial to this particular rich yet vibrant green.  I painted my own living room in New York City this color over twelve years ago, and I love it as much today as I did then.  It's timeless, invigorating and modern at the same time. Not to mention black and white works wonderfully against this strong hue. Ceglia was given areas that are not necessarily the sexiest rooms to design in a home.  However, it proved to be a perfect challenge because talented designers are known to "turn lemons into lemonade", and Ceglia certainly does just that here.

Leading with that philosphy, he took it up a notch and made a spectacular statement while setting the stylish tone for the rest of the home's design.  It is bold and imaginative, yet elegant and confirms our love for green-- this color juxtaposed against photography, graphic art, wallpaper and beautiful detailing is stunning.
I first learned about the room design when I saw Ceglia's post on Instagram.  He showed this fashion image of a beautiful blue and white dress (above right) that he kept on his inspiration board for years then decided to use this concept of wide white banding contrasting with a bold color for the drapery at the showhouse-- it works well! The Shade Store (sponsor for the showhouse) provided all the wallcoverings, fabric by Kravet, trim from Samuel and Sons, photography throughout the designs by Nicke Mele, grasscloth by Hinson (which he lacquered green).  Kudos to Billy Ceglia for keeping us all on our "design toes" by offering fresh and inspiring design!
Happy Nesting
