Summer fun is on the horizon.
Today, let's investigate some great sources for outdoor parties from stocking your outdoor bar to picnics and pool party sources.

Part III:
Nest by Tamara's Entertaining
"Must Haves"
for summer 2013
A few days ago I showed you my list of items
to help you stay the consummate host this summer.
These were ideas to spiff up your summer table, but not break the bank.  Later, I showed tips and sources to tweak a guest bedroom as well.

Today is Part Three:
ideas for  your summer picnics, beach or poolside parties.
To start your party off on a stylish note, Jonathan Adler has pared up with Paperless Post to provide us with pretty on-line invitations this summer, and they are quite inexpensive to boot (hello, $1.oo is a bargain)
These fun party invitations are a Must Have for me.
Thank you Paperless Post

how snazzy are these Anchors Away envelopes -
and one of our family's favorite symbols
next, let's stock the outdoor bar...

I love vintage bar carts with casters so you can wheel them from room to room or even take them outside for a backyard barbecue.  My brass faux-bamboo cart goes outside for garden parties!
speaking of bar carts,
I think this rattan one on wheels new to the inventory from Serena & Lily would make a good outdoor version

multi-purpose rattan outdoor bar cart Monaco
stock your bar with stylish items, such as --

blue and white English antique biscuit jars are great to use as
distinctive ice buckets on a stylish bar cart - these beauties are from
English Country Antiques in Bridgehampton

Holland & Sherry has many vintage items in their hsbespoke collection as well and check out these antique seltzer bottles
ship coasters from Haus Interiors add a nice nautical touch

set your outdoor bar with cute little accessories like this mermaid bottle opener from
Haus Interiors
love this large urn with a worn look with the Versatile Urn
from Ballard Design.

picnics
check out my Taking Guests to the Beach post complete with recipes.
I think picnic dinners at sunset on the beach can be a festive way to greet your weekend guests - so, pack it up in style here...
What an adorable picnic basket and for a song over at

speaking again of rattan, this antique rattan covered thermos over at BillysBungalow on etsy is a classic look

for a good old-fashioned picnic

Horchow sells pretty monogram items,
including these plastic cups and napkins -- perfect for a picnic
Caspari Lobster napkins would look great for a preppy Lobster Bake

Pool and Beach Parties
my Salute to Summer on page 64-68 of Traditional Home magazine's Great Kitchens

of course I've written about this before, and check out the recent issue of Great Kitchens by Traditional Home magazine
where my Fourth of July pool party was profiled
sometimes it's the little touches to a backyard barbecue that make it special.  I love these small tea lanterns votives from calypso home
light these lanterns and set next to your pool or line the driveway to lead your guest after dark -- a lovely sparkle from West Elm
above were the bargains and here's the splurge, but worth every penny Bevolo lanterns made by hand in New Orleans - they are the original gas lamp company.  The table lanterns would look beautiful on an outdoor table.

Now, go on and get out of here
and get those invitations started.
See you at the beach!

Happy Nesting XO
