Michael’s “Ode to Paris” channels the French sensibilities of glamorous living, while borrowing colors from the French flag. The vibrant palette utilizes red, white and blue in a punchy and fresh manner that makes you want to sip bubbly while lounging on that luxurious bed. I love the geometric painted floor from Alpha Workshops, as well as the wide array of Roche Bobois furniture pieces in the space including a leather
Cherche Midi bed, a Florian chair and a red lacquered Mic Mac bookcase to name a few. The red lacquered dropped ceiling adds a glamorous touch. But, the stars of the room are the hand
loomed window shades which feel netted, and are all custom made by Michael and his team in their workroom MT
Customs. With the gold detailing added to the shades it brings in just the right amount of bling. The art in the room, generously loaned from Kate Shin Gallery, is eclectic and stunning and sets a sophisticated tone. The fabrics are from JAB Anstoetz, and the blue paint is one of my favorite colors from Farrow & Ball, Stiffkey Blue. The room is quite large yet Michael manages to make it feel cozy and draped in fabulousness. Michael took it just the right amount of over-the-top to remind us here at Holiday House just why we love interior designer showhouses, because when done well, they inspire us to reach beyond our comfort zones and dream big.
Merci Michael!
