The 11th annual East Hampton Antiques Show
Kicks Off Next Weekend's Festivities
with A Friday Evening Preview Cocktail Party

The highlight to my summer in the Hamptons has long been attending the annual East Hampton Antiques Show, which is set on 3 1/2 acres on the bucolic and historic Mulford Farm at 10 James Lane in the village of East Hampton.  Presented to the community by the East Hampton Historical Society, the show is known as the premier design event and a highlight to the summer antiques offerings in the East End. Each year, this show draws antique dealers and vendors from far and wide who offer locals and visitors alike the most stellar products.
pieces I found at the East Hampton Antiques Show over the years.
To begin with, the farm is gorgeous and pastoral with a restored 17th century farmhouse, barns, outbuildings and a windmill that are some of the oldest in Long Island.  As the dealers begin setting up their booths under billowy white tents, the farm starts to transform from a pretty, natural scene to a glamorous venue, and it is an ideal landscape to shop for antiques.

With over 50 dealers coming together, there is something for every antique lover at this show. There are many unique and quality antiques offered throughout the show -- mid-century furniture, American folk art, tribal art, mirrors, art, outdoor furniture, lighting, tabletop, jewelry and other collectibles. Some of my favorites are the eclectic garden and patio pieces which look right at home on the grassy rolling hills of the farm. I like to take my time, walk the farm, chat with the friendly and knowledgeable dealers in order to hear about their collections.  Each year, I come away armed with more information about antiques and a few select pieces to add to my home and the homes of my clients.

The Friday evening kick-off party offers a celebratory gala while providing great value since attendees are given early buying time while sipping their cocktails and nibbling on delicious bites, and all just hours after the vendors set up their booths, and before the show opens to the public. The Preview Cocktail Party is Friday, July 21 from 6 to 8:30 pm, and this year the Honorary Chairperson is renowned interior designer Tom Samet.  After the Opening Party, the show opens to the public on Saturday & Sunday, July 22 & 23.  Ticket proceeds benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.  Tickets for the Friday Night Opening Gala starts at $150 per person which includes return visits over the weekend.  Junior Tickets (ages 40 and under) are priced at $100.
