WELCOME to Nest by Tamara blog
Thanks for stopping by, and since 2010 I've been sharing my passion for interior design, history, art, entertaining, travel & fashion. I am an interior designer, textile designer and writer living and working in New York City and East Hampton, Long Island. My musings have taken me to international design, art, antique and epicurean events. I have been asked to write on these subjects for magazines and online media, and I also regularly host events and talk on these subjects. I am grateful to have been listed as the #1 top design blog, blogs to watch, top design blogs and named and awarded Rising Star of Design by the IFDA NY industry organization. A Fabulous Day
In The West Village in NYC
My friend Carrie and I had a fun, spring day in the West Village,
wallking from shop to shop then popping in for an apertiveo then lunch and an afternoon perusing the iconic Future Perfect Home.  If you don't know about this best kept design secret in New York City, it's a design lover's dream set in a historic townhouse in a bucolic row of homes open to the public by appointment only with temporary art exhibits by some of the most reknowned and talented artists in the world.  This day lighting designer Lindsey Adelman's exhibit was on display.  The lighting guru hailing from Brooklyn, showcased her sketches, illustrations, sculptures and art alongside her iconic lighting collections many nautical-inspired art pieces.

Lindsey Adelman Exhibit on display.  It was a pleasure to see this designer's works and learn of her process altogether along with sculptures, illustrations and art never showcased before.  I have long-loved the nautical-inspired globe lighting that has become iconic in the interior design industry.
each floor of the townhouse offered up a cornucopia of varying artists and their sculptures, paintings, illustrations, decorative arts and furniture together in an environment that feels authentic and lived wtih.

We popped in for a coffee and bit (the best homemade potato chips ever)
at Italian trattoria,
Bar Pisellino
then, a delicious lunch at the hard-to-get-a-reservation-at
