I have been covering this show for five years now on the blog, and it is certainly one of my highlight events in the East End of Long Island every summer. I enjoy chatting with my favorite antique vendors and seeing their choice wares hand-selected and showcased in the bucolic fields of this historic farm. The show is widely recognized as the premier antiques event on eastern Long Island and a highlight of the East Hampton arts and social calendar. Set adjacent to the beautiful duck pond in East Hampton, the Farm is on 3.5 meandering acres featuring a restored 17th-century farmhouse as well as several barns and outbuildings that are among the oldest on Long Island. I appreciate that the antiques come from a wide cross section of vendors (over 50 antiques and art dealers) spread out over the property in billowy, elegant white tents. There is a special emphasis on vintage decorative items for the home and garden, and the show is a design aficionado's dream showcasing beautiful rattan and bamboo furniture, lighting, textiles, architectural elements, and a cornucopia of American and European furniture, art, garden ornaments, wrought-iron accessories, industrial items, paintings, and even period jewelry.
The show is made possible with generous support from BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Domaine Franey Wines & Spirits, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, and Charlie & Sons, and it is managed by Ferguson & D’Arruda of New England. Catering is provided by Brent Newsom and live music at the Preview Cocktail Party will be performed by Jane Hastay and Peter Martin Weiss. This year, it is exciting to note that Honorary Chairperson is local celebrity, designer & style maker Aerin Lauder who is on board to host the Friday evening gala, which kicks off the festivities and also offers patrons early buying options before the show opens to the public on Saturday July 23 and Sunday, 24. How wonderful that the ticket proceeds from the Preview Cocktail Party benefit the East Hampton Historical Society, which helps to keep our town beautiful and relishing the history we are so fortunate to have surrounding us.
