As we plan our Le Club Sur la Plage table at Lenox Hill Spring Gala on April 11, We Channel The Beach Club at Fontelina in Capri

"How would you spend the perfect day on the island of Capri? Swimming beneath the Faraglioni, soaking up the summer sun on a comfy beach lounger, eating freshly caught pezzogna in the shade of a pretty pergola, drinking a glass of sangria whilst the sun begins to set..."

Many moons ago my husband and I honeymooned in Italy (26 moons ago), and we ended our trip on the glorious island of Capri.  For a splurge, my husband scoured every travel guide (well before the easy-access of the internet),  and booked us various days at private beach clubs in Italy where felt like local Italians for a day-- complete with lounge, pool and beach-side with umbrella, towel and cabana then off to a quintessential Italian lunch al fresco-style. We remember one such, amazing experience at Faraglioni which left a permanent mark on me, and now I forever pine for that when traveling.  On the gorgeous property, there was a viewing point, foot paths and we dined on delicious fare.  Since that time, we have come to learn that all throughout Europe these private beach clubs open their doors to those "in the know" who yearn for that experience for the day. I cannot think of anything comparable in the States.

As we create a pretty table alongside 50 other interior designers hailing from around the country in the gorgeous ballroom in Grand Central Station, we channel this idea for this year's theme-- Make A Splash.  We hope to capture that feeling on our table and named our designs, Le Club Sur la Plage which taps into the experience of French and Italian beach clubs, which are casual destinations yet very chic.  We bring pretty iridescent plates and tableware from Costa Nova's Riviera collection, napkins and rings from Kim Seybert, a vintage looking bath club sign to hover over the centerpiece, and tropical botanicals.  We custom designed two patterns for our spring, fabric collection with root cellar designs which will permanently be part of the collection, Underwater and Coral Branchy pattern.  This is offered in our Linen/Cotton textile as well as our Porch textile, an indoor/outdoor fabric which is mold, stain and water resistant.
Happy Nesting

about our table designs:
We are excited to decorate a table again for the fourth year in a row for The Lenox Hill spring gala.  For this year's theme, "Make a Splash.  The black-tie Lenox Hill Neighborhood House gala is set for April 11 at the Grand Central Stations' ballroom (a former historic bank) and catered by Cipriani-- how appropriate! The money raised goes to support this neighborhood house on the Upper East Side of New York City, and works with local teens, and each year they honor someone renowned in the industry as well.  The room is beautiful with over 50 tables decorated quite differently and elaborately but with this idea in mind.  Top shelter magazines and press turn out to photograph and view the tables during their cocktail viewing hour.
Underwater Dark Sky linen/cotton will don our table
then be included as part of new spring collection, botanica.
"The 2018 Spring Gala, Make a Splash! will take place on Wednesday, April 11th at Cipriani 42nd Street.  Join us for an evening of dinner and dancing surrounded by elegant tabletops individually decorated by acclaimed interior designers".
