HC&G Magazine presents awards to local designers and architects at East Hampton's Guild Hall

I was invited to a
fabulous event last evening
at
East Hampton's Guild Hall hosted by
HC&G magazine
to celebrate talents
in the design industry
HC&G's second annual Innovation in Design Awards
sponsored by Bridgehampton National Bank
the food was delicious and I took a photo of these
scrumptious dumpling bites from
Art of Eating
served on a slate board

The award ceremony was a time to honor design industry folks out in eastern Long Island  acknowledging talents for their creative and innovative design.
first it was cocktails on the lawn at
Guild Hall
I took this photo of friends
Cherie Bustamante and Chris Abbate of Novita Public Relations,
Tim Schroeder President of Duravit and
Kendell Cronstrom Editor In Chief Cottages and Gardens.

I was able to meet and interview Stephanie Odegard in her showroom at 200 Lexington Avenue in NYC last September when I wrote a story about her rugs for Design Week
when local celebrity designer Jack Lenor Larsen approached the podium,  he gave a poignant speech about his longtime friend Stephanie Odegard.  Stephanie is the owner of the Stephanie Odegard Collection, which is a collection of rugs made in Nelpal, India and Tibet, and vary from cotton flat weave to hand woven and silk. Stephanie Odegard rugs are considered some of the finest collections in the design industry.  Jack presented Stephanie with a humanitarian award thanking her for decades of commitment to the industry, and noted her stellar involvement in the organization she founded, GoodWeave.  GoodWeave makes a huge commitment to end child labor in the carpet industry.

Next, they presented innovation awards to following firms:

Recognition Award, Rutligliano Custom Inc

 Kitchen Winner, Martin Architects PC

James Michael Howard Inc.

I have been a fan of James Michael Howard for quite some time and his work speaks for itself.  His rooms are classic but with a twist and his use of color is impeccable.
"Jim's meticulous attention to architectural detailing and his lavish application of color, texture, and pattern are hallmarks of his style" James Michael Howard website

Thank you HC&G for supporting designers, artists
and architects out east.
