Foodie in San Diego: My travels to the Latin Food Festival

 San Diego's Latin Food Festival:

Delicious Tastings
Set in a Gorgeous Sunny Outdoor Park!
I just returned from the Latin Food Festival in San Diego
where I was invited to attend and stylize the tables for this annual event.    Almost 3,000 foodies turned out to sample local Latin cuisine, and all set on the gorgeous Embarcadero Marina Park North Park overlooking the ocean.  This second annual festival showcased over 100 restaurants, chefs & wineries.  There was a Taste of Baja area, a VIP tent, a special wine tasting section with Spirits of the Americas as well as celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and performances.  It was an extravaganza!  After four hours of meandering the park and tasting an array of bites from a variety of restaurants channeling many countries, we came away satiated and interested in learning more about Latin cuisine.  The festival then served up several awards to chefs and restaurants whose items were the most popular and delicious.  Take a look at the culinary results:

Fogo De Chao San Diego - 1st place culinary
a Brazilian steak house, with restaurants around the country
Puesto - 2nd place culinary
Mexican street taco specialty
Blind Burro - 3rd place culinary
Baja Mexican cuisine
Happy Nesting
XO Tamara

About the flowers:
I shopped locally in Carlsbad, CA at Mayesh flowers, a wholesale flower market and chose hundreds of gorgeous sunflowers for the festival knowing the hearty stems would hold up to the long, hot day outside in the sun.
Check out what Dining Out San Diego magazine had to say about the Latin Food Festival, and take a look their stunning photographs.
