The Skinny on What's New What's Next: Fall in NYC begins

I posted over on the IFDANY blog
today about What's New What's Next,
& here for Nest by Tamara readers as well...
FALL NEWS:
The busy design season in New York City begins with the annual What's New What's Next at the New York Design Center.  Put your hand in the design cookie jar this week, and mark your calendar to ring in the fall season!
It's official summer is over, and the fall season rolls into New York City with many exciting events for the interior design industry.  This week we are in the throes of what is happening in the industry, beginning with the very specialWhat's New What's Next hosted at the New York Design Center at 200 Lexington Avenue.  All day long Thursday the calendar is chock-filled with talks, book signings, new product launches and symposiums to put us in the thick of interior design.  rsvp here for this day-long celebration this Thursday, September 18 from 2 pm-9 pm.
We know many IFDA members will be in attendance, so please pop over to our IFDA NY desk to say hello, maybe take the opportunity to renew or sign up on your membership, as well as hear about our upcoming events.  There will be volunteers from the IFDA manning desks on both the 4th and 7th floors, so please find us!
What's on my agenda for the day?
I want to hear from the shelter magazines in attendance bringing us up to speed on the latest and greatest in design. Below is just a sampling of some of the design magazines involved...

My stops will include popping in at
*2 pm to Century Furniture suite 200  in order to hear what Newell Turner EIC of House Beautiful magazine has to say about designer Windsor Smith's new ICON collection with Century.  *Then, from 2:30-4:30 I want to hear Cottages and Gardens' "Designer Inspiration Salon" which is a partnership with Potterton Books, and a unique opportunity to meet and speak with authors of today's hot design books.  *Also, from 4:30-6:30 pm at Sedgwick & Brattle in suite 815 domino magazine's "Rooms with a View's 20th Anniversary Showhouse" will be discussed and celebrated.  A time to meet Robert Leleux, editorial director and Beth Brenner, Chief Revenue Officer of the magazine, as well as hear from interior designer Thom Filicia, who chairs the showhouse in Southport, Connecticut.  *I plan to visit the Cliff Young showroom at 6:30 pm in suite 505, with EIC Elle Decor magazine's Michael Boodro who will host a panel discussion "Making It Memorable".  There will be a discussion on how to infuse personality into every room with interior designers Robert Couturier, Richard Mishaan and Markam Roberts leading the charge. There is Oh So much more,

and for a complete calendar of events check here.  Hope to see you there!

Happy Nesting
XO Tamara
