Benjamin Moore 2014 HUE® Awards
To me, color is one of the most important elements of interior design. I continue to be awe struck by the power a can of paint can wield over a design, plus how a wise color choice can single handedly transform a room! On that note, when I received an invitation to Benjamin Moore's annual HUE dinner and award ceremony where the paint company generously honors talents in the industry for their usage of color, I was over the moon. Set in the gorgeous Highline Ballroom in New York City, and with the very eloquent and funny Simon Doonan (Barneys Creative Ambassador-at-Large) on stage leading the charge, the evening was a perfect way to kick-off the busy Fall line-up of design industry events. Six designers were awarded with live music performances by Nate Campany & The Serenade
. This year Benjamin Moore partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA, non-profit trade association of America’s fashion) to introduce a new category to the HUE Awards, the CFDA Trailblazer Award. Fashion designer Trina Turk was recognized for her exceptional use of color in her designs that extend from fashion to home collections. Others honored include Jeff Andrews Design, EverGreene Architectural Arts, Martyn Lawrence Bullard Design, Bergmeyer Associates, Mario Buatta.
