Fabric Post: LuRu Home expands their fabric collections and now sold by the yard.
A Favored Fabric Company
Now Offering Their Designs
By The Yard & In More Colorways,
LuRu Home Collection
attended my summer party;
posing with her pillows.
We profiled the freshness and clarity of these fabrics from LuRu Home last summer because the indigo collection works well with our aesthetic in East Hampton. The gorgeous pillows and napkins added to our designs and complimented the colorful layering on our summer table. It is wonderful news to hear that LuRu Home is expanding their fabric colors and now offered by the yard. These fabrics are hand screen printed in the USA using eco-friendly dyes and in a linen-cotton blend, which make them ideal for residential upholstery and a perfect weight for bedding and drapes as well.
LuRu Home has been in business since 2010, originally operating from Shanghai and supporting Chinese Nankeen printing. Nankeen printing is a 3,000 year old technique using natural indigo dye, a soy-bean paste resist technique. Check out their Nankeen dyeing video showing the making of these fabrics. LuRu dons these fabrics on their collections of tote bags, zipper pouches, pillows, napkins and more, and now the fabrics are also offered by the yard through Studio Four NYC in New York City, and Nicky Rising Ltd. in Los Angeles or directly through their site at retail via email, claire@luruhome.com.

Studio Four in NYC
Since artisans in Shanghai utilize only natural indigo, the folks at LuRu Home did their research and homework to find sources and expand their color availability. Now, in addition to offering traditional printing Nankeen indigo yardage made in Shanghai, LuRu Home is offering new colors and fabrics by the yard and made in the U.S. The company works hard to achieve a balance and happy medium between traditional Eastern and contemporary Western design.
