Holiday House NYC Sets A Festive Tone For The Season In New York City

Maybe The Best Year Ever:
The 10th Annual Holiday House Show House
Is Now Open To The Public
Through The Holiday Season!
This week, I attended the annual gala at Holiday House NYC.  This year it feels extra special as it is their 10th year in a row.  The designer showhouse is back to its original location at the Academy Mansion--a beautiful, historic home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and the event benefits breast cancer research.  The home is freshly festooned with decor and architecture by some of the finest designers and artists in the world.  It is truly a magical experience to visit, and all thanks to the hard work and determination by its founder, Iris Dankner.  She works tirelessly to pull this designer show house together and this year on the heels of the very first Holiday House London only a week before.

We at root cellar designs are grateful to be included in the roster of designers who have been a part of Holiday House over the years.  You may remember we donned a small powder room off the terrace last year in the Holiday House Soho show house last January.  Being a part of the Holiday House family of designers is special, and this year we are back celebrating the designs of our peers.  Please see highlights of just some of our favorites.  The house is chock-filled with details, and we must go back again and again to take it all in fully.  Head over in the  midst of your holiday shopping to the Academy Manion at 2 East 63rd Street in New York City and it is open to the public until December 6.  Next week, our fashion editor, Susan Young will bring you fashionable highlights from Holiday House as well.  In the meantime, please visit HolidayHouseNYC for tickets, hours and details!
Highlights from Opening Night at Holiday House:
Renowned photographer and blogger extraordinaire, Rio Hamilton slathered the walls of his Powder Room with familiar faces in the industry all striking a pose--"10 years of Holiday House" pays homage to those who support this worthwhile cause.
