I am happy to note I'll be traveling to yet another event to report on the latest design trends. I am invited to Las Vegas to the upcoming KBIS show this February to cover kitchen and bath design. I will be traveling with 23 women, most of them entrepreneurs, business owners, designers, writers, journalists-- we are all coming together on the floor of the well renowned kitchen and bath show with sponsors, KBIS, Mr. Steam, Thermador, Caesarstone, Wellborn, Lamps Plus, and Thompson Traders to report on products and design.
What is KBIS and When is it?
KBIS (The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) is the largest industry show in North America showing premiere design for kitchens and bathrooms. There will be over 600 brands exhibiting, pulling from top industry folks who travel from all over the world. The dates for this year's show, February 19-21, 2019.
What am I excited to see this year on the show floor? Well, this year I designed four kitchens; two in New York City, one in Connecticut and one in Long Island. For two of them, we specified and purchased Caesarstone's arstone premium quartz products for the kitchen counters and other areas of the home. My New York City clients were thrilled with the Airy Concrete finish on their kitchen counters and we even continued the product on the radiator tops in the living rooms and bedrooms of the entire home. It worked well with the all grey tone-on-tone designs and hues we chose for the apartment. The clients wanted a neutral respite in the busy "Big Apple".

We also specified the Excava #4046 finish for another client last holiday season-- it showcases deep auburns, chestnut tones and copper hues, and all with a lovely unpolished, matte finish. The oxidized surface brings rust and concrete together and looks fantastic when paired with dark mahogany finishes and cabinetry. It works well with my client's love of industrial design in their Connecticut mid-century historic, home.
But, my favorite of the collection is the Cloudburst Concrete #4011-- with it's swells of white on white cloud-like designs it is a lovely mix of the utilitarian feel of concrete with dreamy designs and a lot of texture to boot.
Cloudburst Concrete
The Metropolitan Collection has nine finishes to choose from-- Airy Concrete, Cloudburst Concrete, Excava, Frozen Terra, Topus Concrete, Fresh Concrete, Raw Concrete, Rugged Concrete, and Sleek Concrete. I'm looking forward to seeing more of what Caesarstone has to offer for 2019 at KBIS in Las Vegas!
