Happy 2020

we go for the gold this new year,

and predicting the gold trend will continue for 

food, home & fashion into 2020...

2019 was a fantastic year in many ways.  

There was an explosion of gold in our world, and we saw in all over the food blogs on Instagram, on the runways for fashion and at all the design-industry shows in the home market.  I love this Robert Frost poem, and it shows our collective love for the glittery hue, how it appears in nature, yet how it disappears as readily as it comes into our lives. FOOD

we love seeing all the 14 carat 
on cupcakes, donuts and cookies.  

My daughter has become quite the baker- 
visit her at Goodies By Gab 
we found a great source for edible gold leaf.

FASHION

we noted gold on eyes and lips everywhere in 2019...why not? You can go full on liquid gold for lips or just a touch of gold (which is what I do) for a little bit of glam.

 We noted True Residential leading the color and design trends when at KBIS (the premiere kitchen and bath show) this year, and even with all the color, we love this gorgeous white and gold kitchen they showcased!

 The Aberdeen is Gingko and gold, bringing two design trends together from Ballard Designs 
(yes, we shop high and low)

We noted a return to velvet this fall in the home market.  Rich and inviting upholstery-weight gold velvet tops the list, from Designer's Guild

 Holiday House Hamptons 2019 we loved

 Patrik Lonn's "Givenchy Gentleman's Study" 

and those glittery pillows on the sofa.

is impressive in all its splendor. Not sure about the comfort level though but they are pretty!
