Years ago I was invited by the French government for a luxury goods tour throughout Paris. The Comité Colbert is a consortium of French made, brands collaborating together to celebrate the quality of luxury French goods. One of our visits was outside of Paris to the Hermes atelier where we met with the owners and learned about the family owned company, then given a private tour of the atelier to see first-hand how these bespoke handbags are made- check out my Hermes visit here. The Birkin bag (named after iconic fashionista Jane Birkin) is made by hand, first stitched inside out and only touched by one craftsman. Side note- many of the company's bags were named after iconic woman of the time. Long before my tour, I have had a fascination with gorgeous handbags, so this auction was an incredible experience for me.
When I found out that Christies is offering an online handbag auction as part of their luxury week, my interest was piqued. The bags are the ultimate luxury handbag sale, an auction happening right now this week at Christie's auction house offering 180 pieces from the top luxury fashion houses, Handbag & Accessories. You can request a private viewing or simply bid online. Gorgeous colorful handbags mostly from Hermès, but there are also pieces from Chanel, Fendi, and Prada. These are rare leathers, colorful, unusual colors and sizes, and a few options to own the perfect Kelly or Birkin bag. Put your bids in online from now until June 9th. The Kelly Bag.
1. Rose Lipstick Tadelakt Leather Kelly bag (size 25) with gold hardware. This one tops my list- my heart skipped a beat seeing this one. The Kelly bag was named after the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly and this color, size seems perfectly suited for Kelly's classic style. First of all, the Kelly bag is the perfect "Lady handbag". It's prim, it's proper and it's a manageable size for almost any occasion. It's classic, yet in this lipstick pink it's screaming style.

2. a 2013 Limited Edition Turquoise Swift Leather and Osier Picnic Kelly bag (25 size) with Palladium hardware with lock, keys, clochette, dustbag and care card. 20-26K
3. A 2018 Matte Vert D'Eau Alligator Constance 24 With Palladium hardware. Last time I checked a bid was for $20,000

4. 2019 Blue Iridescent Lambskin Leather Small Chanel Flap Bag with set of two card holders. The color is unique, and a little shimmer too- I'm not sure what I'd do with a Black Carbon Chanel surfboard but it's really cool and would fantastic in a decorated room, a beach house guest room, perhaps?
