A wonderful weekend at the 2021 East Hampton Antiques and Design Show
The Return of the
East Hampton Antiques & Design Show
Summer 2021
Maybe it was because we spent a year missing out on social events, but this summer the East Hampton Antiques & Design Show was my most favorite yet. I've been attending for many years, but this year the energy, flow of the booths (with over 50 vendors), live music, delicious food (catered by Bostwick's and Debbie Gepert events), and attendees seemed especially vibrant. There were bargains to be had, and lots of busy shoppers snapping up their favorite antiques and collectibles. There were lots of beauties to choose from when shopping- everything from vintage art, rugs, garden sculptures to midcentury furniture and even exotic, handmade kaftans. My favorite items were the plethora of antique tabletop wares.
First, we attended the Friday evening opening cocktail party then again for more shopping on Sunday. Luxe interiors + design magazine was the generous, new media sponsor and their team showed up with great enthusiasm. The "icing on the cake" is that ticket proceeds supports the East Hampton Historical Society. Each year the show is set on the bucolic Mulford Farm (circa 1680) which is one of the East End's oldest farms located on James Lane complete with the original barns, a windmill and a rolling lush lawn. It's refreshing to see the turn out from locals and the interior design community who come together annually to appreciate history, architecture and antiques here in the East End.
