my private tour of the show to interior designers and journalist in 2018
As an interior designer, I feel it's imperative to incorporate vintage and antiques into my client's homes. Whether they're heirlooms passed down over the generations or curated collections by the homeowner, antiques tell a story, create memories and bring a sense of patina and history to a space. One of my favorite places to shop for unique finds is the annual East Hampton Antiques & Design Show hosted every July on the bucolic and Mulford Farm on James Lane in East Hampton which benefits the East Hampton Historical Society. It is a fantastic antique show bringing together unique vendors from all over the country and spread out in billowy tents throughout the historic farm in East Hampton. Over the years, I've found a plethora of antiques and mid-century decorative items for both the home and garden. I hope to see you there this weekend, and the show promises great fun bringing together the design community for philanthropy, design and antiques. This year they have added an educational component to the show with a Saturday Night Symposium, Point of View: Vintage to New.
The Friday Evening Preview Cocktail Party kicks off the weekend's festivities Friday from 6–8:30 pm where guests will enjoy early viewing and early buying along with cocktails and nibbles. Followed by two days of antique shopping on Saturday, July 17 from 10 am–6 pm and Sunday, July 18, 10 am–5 pm.
This year the show boasts Honorary Chairperson, Marshall Watson, Media Sponsor, LUXE Interiors + Design, and the East Hampton Historical Society Design Committee. The Saturday Night Symposium brings together top designers Marshall Watson and Sasha Bikoff for an intimate discussion about their work, how they use antiques mixing old and new together, and how to shop in this ever changing world of interior design.
