We hope Designer Show Houses will inspire us to run home and create a beautiful space. Well, job well done by renowned interior designer Laura Lee Clark Falconer because her Kano Garden at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas was awe inspiring.
She joined a plethora of interior designers from around the country to design a gorgeous 5-bedroom home in the Old Preston Hollow’s Sunnybrook Estate neighborhood in Dallas. The Show House ran until November 14, but in case you missed it, we bring some select views of this beautiful living room design.
The room’s design was centered around this iconic Gracie wallcovering mural, “Kano Garden”, inspired by antique Japanese screen art with flowering cherry trees, gold leaf applied clouds and colorful peacocks. With a high-gloss white ceiling (what an amazing touch) the dramatic tone is set as the ceiling seems to reflect the layers of textiles and colors through the room.
About Laura Lee Clark Falconer- with over thirty years of experience in residential design, this Dallas-based interior designer has come to understand that sophisticated design relies on high-quality blends of objects and materials that are best approached with “tasteful restraint” and “careful editing”, two terms that she prefers over “strategy” for the emotion and wholehearted commitment required. Her work layers an unexpected combination of finishes, fabrics, and custom-designed furnishings that balance with curated antique elements, amalgamating into the palettes and configurations that her eponymous studio, Laura Lee Clark Interior Design, Inc., is now fondly known for by her long-time clients.
