My Favorite Antique Show Returns
To The East End This Coming Weekend
I am thrilled to announce the return of the East Hampton Antiques and Design Show, a stellar showcase of antiques and mid-century decorative arts for both the home and garden. Each summer, I look forward to meandering throughout the gorgeous Mulford Farm to find unique and beautiful pieces to add to my home and garden in Springs. Although I have been invited to attend many antiques shows over the years- including Mercantenfiera in Parma, Italy and the Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, Paris Flea Market- I am happy to note this local show is my very favorite. As a life-long local resident of the East End, I appreciate the efforts of many who strive to keep the passion for history alive. I enjoy returning every year to see familiar faces mixed with local and international celebrities and design professionals who attend in order to support the event while celebrating a collective passion for antiques. It has been rewarding to get to know many of the 50 vendors who attend each year hailing from all parts of the country. The booths are beautifully appointed and set under billowy white tents, and it's stunning.
I think my favorite part of the show is the Preview Cocktail Party benefit that kicks off the festivities on Friday evening while offering guests early-buying in a peaceful yet celebratory environment (with some great people watching to boot). One year I had a lively chat with Martha Stewart over our shared love for plates. The antiques range in styles from industrial to neo-classical offering a combination of furniture, mirrors, lighting, rugs, textiles, decorative arts, gardening wares and even jewelry. It’s magical and I hope you will join us this year!
