Meeting The Antiques Dealers Behind the Booths at the Upcoming East Hampton Antiques & Design Show
The 20th Annual
East Hampton Antiques & Design Show
Returns to Mulford Farm
on
July 10-12, 2026
I am thrilled my favorite antiques show is coming back to town. The East Hamptons Antiques and Design Show is a benefit for the East Hampton Historical Society. Set at bucolic Mulford Farm in East Hampton each summer, it is the premier show of its kind on the East End. The show features antiques and mid-century decorative items for our homes and garden. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this coveted event.
The weekend kicks off with the Preview Cocktail Party offering guests early buying while meandering the beautiful farm with live music, cocktails and nibbles. The Antiques Show continues throughout the weekend.

I particularly enjoy meeting the dealers behind the antiques at the Show. Today, let's start with a little sneak peek of one of my favorite vendors hailing from the north shore of Boston's seaside village of Essex. For over a decade, I've visited Andrew Spindler's Antiques booth, and I appreciate how he and his team stylize the space with a mixture of unique American and European finds, interesting patterns and enticing colors in the inside barn of the Mulford Farm property.
I had the opportunity to chat with Andrew who has been a vendor at the show for 28 years. He is excited to share with me that he is bringing an eclectic array of interesting decorative objects as well as well as an extraordinary pair of Chinese lacquered armchairs with an incredible, sculptural form. They look like beautiful drawings, except you can sit upon them. Additionally, he is bringing two show-stopping quilts, both from the 19th century yet read as fresh and modern. He will be presenting them on the wall in the booth (as the works of art they are), although they will make fabulous bedcovers too.
"The East Hampton Antiques show is special for many reasons: It's a great place to shop a huge variety of art, antiques, vintage items in an exceptionally beautiful setting. It's such a pleasure and privilege for me to be set up in an 18th century barn. Most importantly, it's the people: I can't think of another show that draws such a sophisticated and worldly audience. I've forged the most wonderful relationships with designers, collectors, 'civilians' who come to East Hampton from all over the country and the world. I really cherish them".

Years ago, Andrew informed me about an
antique textile line
from his area called Folly Cove
In the 1940s a group of women got together creating a collaboration of textile designs all in the small enclave of Gloucester, MA called Lanesville. Leading the group was children book author, Virginia Burton. It all started in 1938 when Virginia sewed curtains for her writing studio. She used linoleum because it was an inexpensive way to block the fabric, and the designs were cut into the linoleum, inked, and then printed on cotton fabric. Since she did not own a press, she simply jumped up and down on the block to print on the fabric. After her neighbor admired the curtains and asked for a block printing lesson, Virginia began to teach the process. Two years later, The Folly Cove textile collective was established. The patterns are iconic and often depict women in daily chores or activities, sometimes floral designs in repetitive formations and it seems almost alwasy in unique colors. These women worked together spanning two decades, and Andrew most likely has the largest collection of these coveted designs. He often brings a few pillows or framed pieces of Folly Cove with him to the show.
