TOP TEN TIPS ON HOSTING
A COUNTRY, SUMMER FETE!

Last Friday, a fantastic crowd turned out to hear our talk and demonstration where we showcased our root cellar designs linens on a table for our very own July 4 party on the Main Stage at the well-attended Country Living Fair, a wonderful annual fair at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and hosted  by Country Living Magazine.  Thank you for joining us in Rhinebeck where my Susan and I shared our secrets, tips and sources on How To Host A Summer, Country Fete.  We passed out tasty appetizers and bubbly pink Cava, and many complimented the combination after the talk.  As promised, we are including the recipes of the pistachio basil pesto here.  the crisps were donated by our very good friend Jan Gorham of Jan's Farmhouse Crisps.  These delicious bites are made in a Vermont kitchen, so head to Jan's website to see the specialty food shops where you can pick them up this summer.  As Summer is heating up, we are happy to bring our popular Under The Pergola column back again.  Once a week here on the blog on Sundays, we show you tips, tricks, secrets and source shares on how to host summer gatherings.  Today, kicks off our first of the summer posts with a recap of our talk and the top ten hosting tips we shared.  Stop back next Sunday for a post entirely dedicated to Susan's homemade White Sangria, and it is fantastic, and may likely become your go-to choice when hosting a summer party this season!

a lil bit about root cellar designs:
Friends for over 25 years, Susan and I began our home textile company, Root Cellar Designs a year ago after working together and hosting dozens events.  We came together bringing our collective design talents to create these unique home textiles for upholstery, drapery, pillows and tabletop linens.  Our fabrics are sold by the yard to designers in showrooms around the country as well.

Happy Nesting
XO Tamara
