With Just a few days left to view this gorgeous house before the charity designer showhouse closes on August 4, we share our second post about favorite designs at the Holiday House Hamptons showhouse. In case you missed it, here's our first story about the showhouse. The event takes place in a brand new house with barn-like architecture nestled nicely into a pastoral neighborhood in Watermill, Long Island. This home is on the market, and now with over 20 designers showing the home's potential I have no doubt it will sell. Like all Holiday House designer showhouses, the event raises funds for breast cancer research.
We are grateful to have been one of the 20 designers invited to create a space here. Please note the recent published stories of the home by media sponsor of the event, HC&G magazine. If you missed visiting, there are plenty of press giving the skinny. Additionally, a few of the designers were invited to take their room designs on the road to the trade show, NY NOW on August 11 (myself included) to the Jacob Javits Center for a build-out of Holiday Hamptons. Additionally, I will be speaking on a panel with other designers from Holiday House Hamptons about "What's New In Design" at 3:00 pm on August 11, so I hope to see you then!
There are a few, strong design trends I noted at the showhouse- Each designer brought their own unique vision, however, there were some consistent threads of design. The home tells a story about clean, edited yet bold interior design. The unique lifestyle in the Hamptons was captured in these spaces where many rooms showcase bold and unique wallpaper, thought-provoking art and organic and unusual furniture and accessories.

1. Barbara Ostrom Associates' Home Theatre is our favorite room- a cozy, indulgent space smartly styled with plush upholstery, metallic wallpaper, an ethereal rug and chock-filled with lots of treats for nibbling (while the Star is Born plays daily). The room's art pays homage to Hollywood's most iconic figures, and it is truly a movie buffs' dream space. But, what we love most about the space is that even when not viewing your favorite movie, it is a room that is perfect to spend time in all year round.

2. Melanie Roy's indoor/outdoor Solarium is a summer lovers' dream. This gives the future homeowner a full indoor/outdoor experience with the entire room opening up to the outside terrace and overlooking the pool. Melanie brought her creative eye and perfectly poised art, furniture and accessories together to create a modern, summer retreat.
3. The pool cabana brings a refreshing sense of whimsy by the talented product designer Allison Eden. We love her fun styling techniques, her color sensibility, those bespoke pool towels and her genius way of putting design together in a playful manner!

4. Tamara Elizabeth Fraser of E. Lily brought her A-game to the Game Room, which rocks! It's clean, edited, super cool and inviting. The vibrant-blue billiards table flanked by the stocked bar cart says it all- have fun, entertain and enjoy summer! Her choices of art are thought provoking and the room celebrates the incredible lifestyle here in the Hamptons.

5. Designed by the founder of Holiday House herself, Iris Dankner of ID Designs who created a spa-like oasis. You immediately feel a zen, peaceful wash come over you when walking into this space. Stocked with state-of-the-art gym equipment and a homeopathy room (complete with all the accoutrements), this space takes health and wellness to a high level.
Happy Nesting
