August 8 was the return of this lovely annual luncheon set at the historic and gorgeous Maidstone Club in East Hampton.  A wonderful turn-out of guests attended (a sold out audience) this year coming together to hear from Alex Papachristidis who showcased his arresting projects from his most recently published book. The projects included myriad homes including a modern beach house in gold, silver and white; a Manhattan home with a vivid lavender-and-blue palette; and a colorful “bohemian” apartment incorporating mid-century furniture. Each project presented creative ways to makes spaces versatile and inviting. Following the presentation, guests dined on a delicious lunch overlooking the ocean at the Club.

This year, the Design Luncheon was supported by the Wilmington Trust and Doyle Auctioneers and Appraisers. Attendees included Doris Meister, recently retired CEO of Wilmington Trust, and Doyle CEO, Laura Doyle, Sarah Wetenhall, Event Co-Chair, as well as Host Committee members, such as Lizzi Bickford Meadow, Catherine Carey, Brent Feigenbaum, Susan Kendall, Kathleen Kirschgaessner, Elizabeth Munder, Amy Tarr, Diane van Amerongen, and Marshall Watson, plus other patrons and notables in the design community.

Proceeds from the Design Luncheon benefit East Hampton Historical Society and their great efforts to preserve its nationally significant historical sites while developing innovative educational programs serving thousands of children and families.
