The 37th Annual East Hampton House & Garden Tour Returns Thanksgiving Weekend
The Highlight of Our
Thanksgiving Weekend
Returns
With the 2025 East Hampton House & Garden Tour
Benefitting the East Hampton Historical Society
After the very last dish is washed and put away and when our Thanksgiving feast is a memory, we embark upon this annual historic home and garden tour. Hosted by the East Hampton Historical Society, the annual East Hampton House & Garden Tour celebrates eclectic and stellar examples of architecture on the East End.
Festivities begin this year with the Kickoff Cocktail Party on Friday, November 28th from 6 to 8 p.m. at a private home in the coveted Devon Colony (shh…it’s a secret location soon to be revealed to attendees). Followed by the House Tour Saturday, November 29th from 1 to 4:30 p.m. This year there will be five homes featured, and again shrouded in secrecy, we wait to hear which homes are on the tour. I love the mystery, and it certainly makes for an exciting event.
The annual tour began almost three decades ago, when then Vice President Allen Schneider and Executive Director Karen Hensel of the East Hampton Historical Society created the small event. Today, the tour has showcased many notable homes in East Hampton. You may have read my stories about visiting Grey Gardens or the iconic White House, the historic Woodhouse Playhouse, a Further Lane Beauty as well as one of my all-time favorites, the pink house on Egypt Lane and two Italian cousins in the original Devon Colony homes. photo highlights below from some of our past tours...
I’ve covered this tour for over fifteen years, and what keeps luring me back is the historical society's emphasis on preservation and restoration while capturing the unique spirit of what it means to be a part of this beautiful community. This tour gives guests a rare opportunity to peek behind the hedges inside these stunning, charming and often unique homes and gardens. It is also impressive that many of the homeowners host Thanksgiving dinner then open their doors two days later. That is quite a feat!
Tickets to the Kickoff Cocktail Party start at $325 and include entry to the House Tour the following day. Tickets purchased in advance to just the 2025 House & Garden Tour are $120.
