Lenox Hill Neighborhood House's Gala is a few weeks away on April 15: Our table will showcase Haviland, Arete Flair Home Collection, RabLabs & Root Cellar Designs!

Ring in Spring on April 15
at a festive black-tie celebration,
the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Gala
at Cipriani restaurant in New York City
Adam and Eve
depicted in the Garden of Eden
I am over the moon to be decorating a table for the annual Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Gala at Cipriani Restaurant this year.  With over 50 tables each designed by a different interior designer in a gorgeous ballroom in the historic Grand Central Station, this event is a philanthropic extravaganza.  The theme this year is the Garden of Eden, and that alone should set the creativity bar quite high. Together with my friend and new business partner Susan Young we are designing a special fabric for the table linen at the gala from our new venture together Root Cellar Designs
Our Fig Lavender table linen
will be available for sale online soon
Tapping into the influence of Eve's Temptation in the Garden of Eden, we hope to entice the senses with color and texture.  We used the fig and fig leaf depicted in the biblical story as our muse and it became our symbol of temptation.  We digitally created an over sized toile cotton/linen fabric inspired by antique fig illustrations and in a vibrant lavender and blue color for our table linen and another fabric in an inverted pattern for our napkins.

Haviland Daum showroom
499 Park Avenue in New York City
We are excited to be utilizing gorgeous porcelain plates, a brand new pattern from Haviland called Duomo. Inspired by the architectural detailing and significance of Italy's historic Duomos, this pattern is shown in a stunning platinum and white design. I stopped into the Haviland-Duam showroom at 499 Park Avenue in New York City to look at their tabletop collections, and there are many gorgeous new patterns so it was hard to choose, but this brand new pattern works perfectly well with our designs.
 Snake Urns by Arete Collection
exclusively at Flair Home
88 Grand Street in New York City
Even more generosity came our way when friend Bradley Clifford offered up two beautiful urn sculptures from his venture with artist George Sellers, Arete Collection, which is making headlines everywhere these days showcasing Arete's gorgeous art, furniture, accessories and sculptures.  Flair Home in Soho offers a special collection of Arete, and these over sized snake urns in white plaster seem made-to-order for our table.
are available for sale online
Additionally, friends from tabletop company
Rab Labs are graciously sending us over amethyst tabletop discs to help showcase our figs.  The color combination of lavender, purple, platinum, gold and white should be a showstopper.  Additionally, the textural contrast of the plates, our fabric and other surprises we have planned, promises a beautiful dining experience!
These Duomo plates bring me back to my recent trip to Milan where when we climbed to the very top of this historic gem.  Milan's famous Duomo is in construction which added to the memorable experience, and as we climbed this long, meandering set of staircases we caught glimpsed through the windows of the architectural remnants in the midst of being carefully restored.  We eventually reached the roof top of the Duomo, which offers breathtaking views of Milan!
We hope to see you April 15, but promise to capture the evening with photographs, journaling the event and our table.  A special thank you to the Haviland Daum New York, Flair Home Soho, Arete Collection & Rablabs!

Happy Nesting
XO Tamara
