Design On A Dime 2015
on April 23rd at the
Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City
with Elle Decor magazine
as the media sponsor.
Our Designer's Atelier Space at
Design On A Dime 2015
was a great success,
but it certainly took a Village!
We decorated a room at the Metropolitan Pavilion, alongside 60+ other designer rooms.  On April 23rd the doors opened, our rooms were on display then all went on sale since everything was donated, benefiting Housingwork's charity's Hull House.  What an evening, and it certainly is NYC's most fun, philanthropic design event. With a star-studded turn out, the fun was flying as the crowd meandered from room-to-room viewing these spectacularly creative vignettes.  Today, we stopped by to see what was left, and well, everything sold, everything!
The makings of our designs took
the efforts of many of our friends, family and the design community...
We used the space to show a design duo working and creating beautiful wares.  Since Susan Young and I just launched our new home collections together called Root Cellar Designs which will include tablecloths, tea towels, napkins, pillows and more, we showcased our very first collection inspired by 18th Century fashion illustrations called Fashion Forward in our designer's studio.

We are very grateful for all these folks...

Our husbands who
hammered, drilled, hung and assembled
guests of Design On A Dime who flooded our space and nabbed all our wares
Elle Decor magazine's Instagram
feed has over 1,200 likes for our one photo
we were featured on Sarah Sarna's blog
Jonathan Legate posted about us on social media

Friends who shopped our room even posted
about their finds

Our room was filled with products from all these generous design industry brands:

Apadana Fine Rugs
BDI
Bernhardt
Brooke Hagel
Bungalow 5
Bunny Williams Home
Dot & Bo
Hudson Valley Lighting
Luigi Gentile
Root Cellar Designs
RWR Art Works
Taylor Burke Home
Troy Lighting
Viyet

And,
then, our friend public relations guru Lisa McMahon wrote and sent out a very snappy press release for the debut of our new company Root Cellar Designs
We are grateful for all the love, and
happy to be a part of this generous community.
A special thank you to Deanna Mossa for her hard work sewing our wares, Ralph Lauren paint for the Classic Pink paint, Mel Alvarez for all he does to make Design On A Dime flow so well, and the  volunteers at Housingworks who work hard.
Happy Nesting
XO Tamara
