Color Post: We Love Coral, Let's Count The Reasons Why, Root Cellar Designs' Color of the Month for May
Let Coral Take Us
On A Spring & Summer Journey
Heading into the new year, Pantone deemed Living Coral as their Color of the Year. Many people balked at this color, but I've always loved it. Let's see how that has shaken out so far- I was happy to note during fashion runways, art openings and interior design shows this year thus far there have been variations of coral to orange shown. Coral has long been a color overlooked on these fronts, and now it's having its fifteen minutes of fame. According to Vogue, coral color may be a "woke" color (a popular term used today to evoke a sense of an awakening and consciousness towards today's world and issues), so it's safe to say that coral has had an awakening of sorts! Certainly, the fashion world is celebrating the color, especially in combination with other colors like pink, lavender and moody jewel-tones.

Coral is a perfect neutral of sorts, and it's less fussy then it's cousin, pink and less intense then its sister, orange, so coral is a perfect choice for spring 2019. We love it so much in our root cellar designs' studio, we lightened the Living Coral color a pinch and created a new color for our collections, and we call it SUMMER CORAL. This is our May Color of the Month, and will now be added to our color offerings. With Color of the Month, we like to show that we can custom color any of our designs in our line of fabric and wallpaper to any color possible while giving us a host of new colors that we permanently add. Interior designers are specifying coral in their interiors, some new this year but some before Living Coral made it on the scene...

Coral is soothing and soft, yet colorful and now it can add cool and hip to it's arsenal of bragging rights. A little jolt of coral in a sun room or screened in porch can add that special summer feeling, and it feels beach-y yet it can look beautiful when mixed with other warm and jewel tone colors in an urban setting. Check out our some of our root cellar designs' fabric designs now offered in SUMMER CORAL colorway.
Happy Nesting
