We are back!  Whether you're masks on or masks off, one thing is for certain- we are returning to connecting with our friends and family, and just in time for Summer 2021.  I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to hosting and preparing some delicious meals around our table this upcoming season.  Looking for fresh, new ideas to adorn my summer table, I have a renewed love for all things with some texture.  One thing I learned from a year of staying home is to simplify.  Maybe my table this season will have less clutter, maybe even less color but certainly with varying shapes and textures along with beautiful hand blown glass, ceramic and a few vintage pieces, a bit more neutral backdrop to keep it clean and simple but lots of natural materials and textures to add interest.

For summer, 2021 I plan to incorporate seagrass and rattan accessories to both my indoor and outdoor table.  I will certainly layer all this rattan with some blue and white vintage plates and I have my eye on a set of white ceramic oyster plates over at etsy (see below), coupled with some ceramic candle holders and vases (I love those black ones from my favorite cooking site Food 52).  Come take a look at these wonderful places I've found, these gems- some are splurges while others a bargain. My favorites include Amanda Lindroth's designs.  This talented designer from Harbor Island in Eleuthera, Bahamas showcases her fastidious design eye with furniture, tabletop designs and almost always with an exotic flair.  I also love Terrain Home and the cool, sophisticated yet casual California vibe over at Serena & Lily.  When I'm searching for bargains, I pop over to TargetPottery Barn and even World Market.

I say, set your table beautifully yet simply, then pour yourself a tall glass of iced tea wrapped in lovely rattan, relax and stir.  Check out my SUMMER TABLE board for more ideas and sources.

Happy Nesting
XO Tamara
